Merchant Surcharge

We are pleased to announce the Merchant Surcharge Program will soon be available. With this exciting feature, merchants can offset their processing costs while effortlessly following card brand guidelines.
Surcharging helps merchants offset expenses by including a percentage fee at checkout (that's paid by the end consumer) on eligible Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express Opt Blue credit card transactions. Offering surcharging to your current and prospective merchants mean they'll be able to offset their credit card acceptance expenses, while maintaining compliance!
Program Highlights*:
- Available for US-based merchants in eligible states
- Variable surcharge rate between .01%-3.5%
- Applied to Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express OptBlue card-present and card-not-present credit transactions
Items to Note:
- 3rd party VARs/gateways can also be used, as long as they are certified to one of our compliant specs
- Merchants must have a separate MID to use unsupported devices. For example: If a merchant has a Clover device and an FD150 on the same MID, they must eliminate the FD150 in order to leverage surcharging.
